When did toothbrush handles get so big they stopped fitting into the wholes of the toothbrush holder?

This I just don't get. It reminds me of how everything's bigger for little kids so it's easier to hold. But as an adult, you're supposed to be able to hold a regular toothbrush. And it's not just Colgate. When I went to buy a new brush recently, I saw that all the companies have bigger handles now. Why?

Next it'll be bigger pens and pencils just like when we were little and learning to write.
